1753 abitanti (censimento 2001). Costruita su una collina sopra la valle di Vinodol, gi\u00e0 nel Medioevo fu il centro della regione di Vinodol che si svilupp\u00f2 intorno al forte, castello costruito dai Frankopan nel 1302 e demolito nel XIX secolo. Oggi ne \u00e8 rimasta solo una torre quadrata con parte delle mura. Bribir \u00e8 una citt\u00e0 con una ricca tradizione culturale, patrimonio sacrale e storico.<\/p><p>Come citt\u00e0 e fortezza dei Frankopan con un \u201cautogoverno\u201d sviluppato, fu menzionata per la prima volta nel 1288 nel Codice di Vinodol, un documento che regolava la prassi, gli usi e i costumi legalmente esistenti tra la nobilt\u00e0 e il popolo gi\u00e0 noti nella zona di Vinodol. Tra i numerosi edifici sacri, da indicare la chiesa dei Ss. Pietro e Paolo costruita nel 1524. \u00c8 un santuario eretto ai patroni di Bribir, che la gente celebra ogni 29 giugno con messe e celebrazioni laiche. Nell\u2019abitato di Ugrini vicino a Bribir \u00e8 nato il famoso botanico Josip Pan\u010di\u0107.<\/p><p>Con la propria struttura, come piccola area urbana, Bribir fornisce tutti i servizi di base ai cittadini dell\u2019intero comune di Vinodol. Ospita istituzioni sanitarie, scolastiche e culturali nonch\u00e9 negozi, ristoranti e molti servizi. Inoltre, per i turisti a Bribir ci sono posti in molti bellissimi appartamenti in edifici tradizionali in pietra della regione di Alla chiesa dsi Ss. Nella prima met\u00e0 del Settecento fu ampliata, ristrutturata e furono aggiunti degli elementi barocchi. Il periodo di maggior fulgore di Bribir coincide con la reggenza del principe Bernardin Frankopan che fortific\u00f2 il castello e le mura della citt\u00e0. Quando nel 1848 il patriziato di Bribir fu abolito, il governo abbatt\u00e9 Vela e Mala vrata (ovvero la <em>grande e la piccola porta<\/em>) e il castello al posto del quale costru\u00ec una scuola. Cos\u00ec la lunga e celebre storia della fortezza di Bribir divenne un cumulo di rovine. Vennero preservate soltanto la torre quadrangolare del 1302 ed una parte delle mura. Dalla collina su cui si estende citt\u00e0 vecchia si gode una vista sensazionale sulla valle e su Novi Vinodolski. Le opere d\u2019arte custodite nella Chiesa di Ss. Fino al XIII secolo il castello era di propriet\u00e0 dei principi di Veglia e dal XIII secolo passa ai conti Zrinski. Nel XIX secolo furono demolite le mura e le torri della citt\u00e0, l\u2019unica torre rimasta \u00e8 quella quadrata del 1302 e parti delle mura della citt\u00e0 sul lato
