A beautiful lake gives Tribalj its special charm. Tribalj is a paradise for fishermen, hang-gliders and paragliders, as well as cyclists, walkers and hunters. St. Mary’s Church in Tribaljsko polje is mentioned in history as the place of judicature according to the Vinodol Codex. Glagolitic rolls confirm it. An early Croatian necropolis from the period between the 8th and 11th century was dicovered in the area around Stranče, a part of Tribalj. The necropolis contained numerous exhibits which are preserved in the Maritime and Historical Museum in Rijeka.
