THE BRIBIR PRISNAC FESTIVAL

The Bribir prisnac festival is a new spring event held in honour of this delicious delicacy, the aroma and taste of which hardly anyone can resist. It is a combination of eggs, cottage cheese, bacon, spring onions, flour and fat and is actually a traditional Easter dish. There is an interesting legend about the origin of prisnac which tells of a clumsy episode of a girl at the Frankopan court which led to the creation of this local delicacy.

On Easter Monday, the Bribir prisnac can be tasted from the exhibitors, while the event begins with a cultural and artistic programme. Visitors have the opportunity to see a demonstration of the preparation of the Bribir prisnac and the screening of the documentary film on the subject. The event itself takes place in front of the Turan tower in Bribir and the Interpretation Centre – Routes of the Frankopan family in the tower itself will be open to visitors for this occasion. The entire event will be accompanied by an entertainment programme with tamburizza players and a rich food and wine offer.
